Jet Car Stunts, the unique racing platformer from True Axis, has just released a long-awaited update, adding a bunch of new levels in the form of DLC, as well as some other perks.
For a $1.99 in-app purchase, you can now add 26 new levels to the original game. These levels range in difficulty from Very Easy to Impossible. As an added bonus, the 5 platforming and 3 time trial tracks available exclusively in the lite version can now be downloaded through a free in-app purchase, eliminating the need to have both icons on your iDevice.
The Impossible levels offered in the first version of the game are now available to be played casually, meaning that you’ll get unlimited retrys and fuel, but you will not be eligible for the leaderboards. Anti-aliasing and fast app switching is available for the iPhone 3GS and 3rd gen iPod, but the retina display improvements unique to the iPhone 4 have encountered an unforeseen issue and will be delayed until the next update, which should be coming soon. An additional cheat menu in the form of an easter egg will allow you to change the color of your vehicle if you can figure out how to access it.
In all, this update is well worth picking up, even if you don’t go for the in-app purchase. If you are willing to pony up a couple bucks, you’ll give yourself plenty of solid gameplay, with tracks that will have you driving upside down and all sorts of craziness that we’ve come to know and love. We’re very happy with the latest version and look forward to more great things to come. If only that level editor would get here……
