The Dog from our friends at Connect2Media is a new app taking over from where Tamagotchi left off. That’s right, your new virtual pet is right here on your iPhone. You get to look after a cute little dog right in your pocket and he’ll be waiting for you, whenever you’re free.

Right from the get-go you’ll see this is a very polished app. Smooth scrolling title screens and great graphics combined with gentle background music make this a really nice app to use. Add to that the easy UI and you’ve got a winner.
You can choose from a few different breeds of dog, but try not to get stuck on this screen because they’re all stunning and cute.
What can you do with your dog? What can’t you do? Pet him, wash him, feed him, teach him tricks, go for walks, enter competitions, go to the beach, go to the park, play in the garden. After you’ve done all that, no wonder he wants to sleep in his basket at the end of the day!
The app doesn’t dump you in at the deep end with all this activity either. There’s a nice and easy learning curve that let’s you play while you work out what you need to do. Teaching tricks is great, especially as you have to make sure you reward him with a biscuit after he gets it right! While you’re in the park or on the beach you can even take him to interesting smells that might lead to treasure. Or when your little new best friend has learned all his tricks you can enter competitions to earn money.
Connect2Media really have thought of everything in this app. Dog lovers who haven’t got the real thing will cherish it. Those with the real thing watch out that you don’t neglect him while you playing with this one instead! Did we say they’d thought of everything with this app? Well, you guessed it. When your taking your little pooch for a walk, you even get the pleasure of cleaning up his poop into a bag. Your dog is then nice enough to stop at the next trash can to let you dispose of it too! Great!! Kids will really love The Dog, but we’re supposed to be adults here at AppSmile and we really loved it too.
