Today Todo Pro by Spielhaus is (can you guess?) an app designed to help you keep track of upcoming tasks. It’s well-designed, looks gorgeous, and chooses to stay simple when many apps of its kind try to cram in as many bullet-point features as possible.
Today Todo Pro Pros:
- Looks gorgeous
- Smoothly transitions between input and list views
- Future todos can be scheduled with due dates
- Priority levels
Today Todo Pro Cons:
- Awkward and unintuitive double tap on sun to rearrange

The main screen is a list of your tasks. You can check off todo items and swipe to delete them. To add a task, you just tilt the iPhone – and the widescreen keyboard appears. This allows you to smoothly transition into adding a bunch of tasks and then tilt your device back to the list. You can also edit any existing tasks by double-tapping them.

Notice that the background is a pretty meadow, with a sun shining overhead. This isn’t just aesthetics, however. By sliding the sun to the left or to the right, you can access the “Yesterday” and “Tomorrow” screens – letting you see old todos or todos that have been scheduled in the future. It’s a clever way of tying functionality into the design.

Other features that you’re probably wondering about: future todos can be scheduled with due dates, and there are three colors you can mark tasks with to show different priority levels. The feature set may be minimal, but are integrated well into the app and fill my own needs well enough.
You can also rearrange task order by double tapping the sun itself – an awkward and unintuitive gesture, we’re not a fan of that. Also, there’s no way of “clearing away” your completed todos without deleting them completely.
Overall, though, it’s a good app at $2.99. We want to see a bit more polish to its functionality, but if you’re looking for a good to-do manager, we strongly recommend this.
