We’re excited that our friends over at Origin8 haven’t been resting on their laurels. Quiet to the contrary, the makers of some of our favorite tower defense games have what looks to be another winner up their sleeves. Actually, better than up their sleeves, they’ve just submitted it to the App Store approval process. Here we have Space Station: Frontier which takes place 100 years after the events of Sentinel 2: Earth Defense. Sporting the same excellent set of graphics as their previous TD games, Space Station: Frontier seems to take the series to new heights. The AppSmile team is looking forward to a quick approval process for this one. Until that time, here are some press release assets to drool over.
Set a century after the events of “Sentinel 2: Earth Defense”, “Space Station: Frontier” sees the player in charge of a deep space mining operation in dangerous territory on the edge of Solar System. By constructing and powering networks of mining tools and weaponry – centred on the titular space station – players must juggle resource harvesting with the defence of their station against hordes of hostile alien ships.
“Space Station: Frontier” introduces a persistent upgrade system wherein the player purchases benefits and technologies that remain available across all game modes, essentially “levelling up” their station. Game modes consist of a mission-based campaign and a number of open-ended scenarios where players can compete for local or global high scores.
“Space Station: Frontier” includes full high scores and achievements from the OpenFeint social gaming network, and sound effects and music from veteran audio studio Earcom.
