Like Robots and hate clutter?  Bambalam has created an intense organizational game for the iPhone under the appellation Robotco.

Presenting the user with whimsical color coded androids, the premise of Robotco revolves around categorizing the bots into storage zones.  Upon starting the game, the robots begin to trickle onto the screen .  Drag the blue robots into the blue zone and the red into the red zone.  Sound simple enough?  Sure, the idea is simple. But the trickle soon rushes into a flood of wandering anthropoids.

Instinct will immediately tell you to drag two robots at a time with two fingers.  Thanks to Bambalams usage of the iPhone’s multitouch capabilities, you can do that.  As levels progress, your tolerance of the pesky bots will be tested.  Can you catalog them all before they self destruct?  Waiting too long will end the game.  So will dropping a robot into the wrong colored zone.  We suggest embarking upon Robotco for the first time in Normal mode.  Here, two zones are utilized for arranging red and blue bots.  If you’re up wo a serious test, Expert mode ups the ante with four zones for red, blue, orange, and gray bots.  We didn’t last long in Expert mode.

Unfortunately, that is about as far as the premise goes.  The game is simple and we would love to see additional robot designs. Additional animations would be a nice touch instead of the offered flashing and exploding. With such a polished interface and soundtrack (keep reading) it is a shame more easily imaginable features are missing.

Bambalam gives the user an impeccable user interface.  Hosted here are the local Highscores and Global League (online leaderboard).
