Picfree – Not Pinger’s Best Work

photoCan’t wait until you get MMS in the new iPhone 3.0 software? Or maybe you have an iPod Touch and all your missing is a picture texting application. Whatever your reason is, we’re sure you will find Picfree useful on some occasions. You would probably not use this app unless you are a MASSIVE texter. As you might have already guessed, the developer is the social networking company, Pinger. Pinger didn’t bring anything new to the App Store. There are already a great number of MMS apps out there.

photo2We are disappointing with Picfree. It is definitely NOT Pinger’s best work. When you first open the application, it take you to a page where you type in your name, much like in Textfree. Everything is fine until it takes you straight to choose your photo. I would expect more options, but no. No more options. From there you choose your photo and type in a message to go with your text then push send. There is no way to send more than one picture at a time which can be annoying at times. Also, whether you have an iPhone or iPod Touch, at the bottom of the texts it says that you sent it from an iPhone. Pinger should definitely fix that. We noticed that this is a pretty simple application for $5.99. We suggest that the developers also make this an “add-on” to Textfree Unlimited instead of Textfree Users having to spend another $6.

Because of the “simpleness”, price, and lack of features, we give this application 3 dimple rating. Don’t think you need to spend the money on this, unless you absolutely NEED to. This application needs some touch-ups in features and price.

PicFree gets our AppSmile 3-Dimple rating:
